Breast Cancer Awareness

In light of the month of October recognized as a month for Breast Cancer Awareness, Pacific MMI Insurance Limited had the privilege to host a Breast Cancer Awareness session for our staff on Friday 4th of October 2024.

The event coordinated by Papua New Guinea Cancer Foundation Inc whom we proudly partner with, was an important initiative aimed at educating our employees and raising awareness about the significance of early detection and prevention.

Breast cancer remains a leading health concern for many women in Papua New Guinea, and the event was a timely reminder of the importance of regular screenings and lifestyle choices that can reduce the risk of the disease.

Dr. Beena Dagam, a renowned health educator, led the session alongside a dedicated team from PNG Cancer Foundation Inc. They provided valuable insights into how individuals can fight and prevent breast cancer through early detection, regular self-examinations, and annual mammograms.

She encouraged attendees to be proactive about their health and to seek medical advice if they noticed any unusual changes.

The event concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where attendees had the opportunity to seek advice directly from Dr. Beena Dagam.
